Hello as stated above my all stock 2000 passat won't start. i have no interior lights, my windows don't work. keyless entry doesn't work and it the car won't even try to crank. i browsed the internet about this and i found info about the computer under carpet. i looked and my carpet was damp under but nothing was corrosive. also checked all my fuses and they are all fine. can anybody help so i can get my car running.

what is the voltage on your battery? if it is below about 12.25 volts, that's the reason - the ECM will not let the car start below a certain voltage. it would have been nice if you had posted some info about your car, such as year/make/model, age of the battery, etc...

please update your User CP to reflect this and other info, and maybe someone local can actually provide you with some real help...???

Ok i have been reading through older posts on this forum. Can the CCM cause the car to not crank yes or no? This all happened at the same time got off work went to bed woke up tried to start car nothing no lights no windows no locks. The horn that sounds when you arm the alarm went out about a day before this. Does it have something to do with the alarm? VW Service Dept at Ed Carroll VW in Ft. Collins, Co (the only dealership within 50 miles of my house) said it was the battery even when i told them i already tired with a different battery (there are no F***ing help at all). I really am getting pissed of at VW's and it sucks because i love this car.

I personally am not a VW Tech but it does not seem like it would be that to me. I mean i don't see all the stuff associated with the CCM not working to be caused by a faulty ignition switch. And how would that effect my keyfob not working, my alarm not working but at the same time my heater and radio are fine.

No, with the wires not being connected to the ccm, it will not get the message for the alarm, also when those wires are bad it drains your battery. When you get a chance to lift your carpet again spread the wire harness out a little bit and just play with it (I know ,real descriptive) the suspect wires will break in your hands, I had about 5 or 6 wires to reconnect. And an indy (not my indy) could not figure it out either.
