Hi, everyone! I'm a 26 year-old female who got her Passat in the summer of 2013. I've always wanted to know more about how to fix my own vehicles and recently, I made the conscious decision to do any repairs to the best of my ability on this car (hello, money savings.) Bear with me as I am a total newbie, but I am anxious to learn more and I've already done a little bit of work on my own (fuel pump, camshaft position sensor, oil change, etc.) This site seems like a great reference. See y'all around!

Same here! I'm anxious to fix them for my 2004 Passat GLS 1.8T, save money, and have fun learning at the same time.

First post.....So noticed that my AC is only cold while the car is in motion, while at idle it just blows warm. Based on a search here on the forum, looks like I may have a bad radiator fan. Followed some suggestions and checked the fan to the left, looking down at engine from front of car, and can say the fan doesn't spin at all after car has reached temp. The fan on the right is spinning just fine. Now just need to find a way to test the fan before removing it or buying one.

Second post......another issue I will have to deal with are the breaks. When I push the brake pedal it pulses like the rotors need to be grinded down. Also noticing a noise from the back in the car...a whop whop whop...gets faster as I accelerate. I'm thinking the tires may need balancing, even though they are new tires.
