wow, what a great job a PC does...

started a detail on my 99 GLS with 175k miles yesterday. washed, then clayed, and then I started with the PC and Sonus SX-1, I believe. the entire car got that, and then as I was running out of daylight, I did the hood with the SX-2.

the thing that amazes me the most is how many rock-pit marks from the hood and front air dam/bumper are gone.

it'll get sealed later today, after I wipe it down one time with detailing spray to get rid of any dust from last eve and do the rest of the car with the SX-2.

yes sir, Mr. Scott, sir. ;)

I will, after a while. and thanks for letting me "keep" the PC for a bit.

the first detailing takes a LONG time. this car was in bad shape...

ok, I did not get it sealed - but everything else was done. tomorrow will be the sealing with Klasse.
but I gotta tell ya, the car looks 1000% better than it did. wow.
I am in awe.

And you, Scott, are going to be held responsible for me having to drop more of my hard earned cash on my own PC and the necessary waxes/polishes. :poke:

I love this one as well...

but this one tells the complete story, regardless of how good the rest of the pix look. I didn't spend enough time on the car to get all of the swirls out of the hood...

this car is a daily driver, all. it has 175k miles on it, the hood has lots of rock chips, and it is a 99. not bad, considering. the next time I do this, there will not be swirls.

as an aside, I used the PC this afternoon with the Sonus SFX-1 on the roof rails of my daughter's A4. they are polished aluminum with a clearcoat, and the clearcoat was getting really hazy. it works there too.

wow just wow, i really need to do mine,

hey scott what should i use on the hood of the bug sx-1 or sx-2, or should i use sx-1 on the sx-2 pad ;)

I used the SG. I decided to try it the way the instructions on the bottle describe, and it is a PITA. it IS difficult to work with - just when you THINK it is completely wiped off, closer inspection shows some minute streaking. I went over the car three times on the upper portion, and three times on the lower portion. if someone had seen me, they'd think," WTF is this old guy doing crawling around and around his car for???" :wrench:

thanks everyone, for all the great comments. the lowers need some Back to Black (I have it), and the tires do need dressed.

Andrew, those tails were on my car at Snorkfest I and II, and have been for about more than 2 years. ;)

I didn't clean up the wheels - I have plans there, tho.

just as a small touch of irony to "compliment" my hard work - I went out this morning, only to discover a nice "plop" of bird crap on my windshield. ;)
