2 coats of plastic adhension promoter
1 coat primer
wet sand
4 coats of paint
5 coats of clear

Out of curiosity, how much time did you spend doing this, all in all? Wondering because I want to compare time vs. cost of having this done professionally (about $1000,- here)

Be careful of the rubber door bottoms. Or maybe I should say tell your passengers to be careful of door bottoms. My gf opened my passenger side door into a snowbank and cracked the corner of mine.

 

I hope she makes up for her poor car etiquette with good behavior in the bedroom!

damn that looks amazing. where did you get the paint? did you go through the dealership, and what kind of gun do you have?

 

no i went to bens paint supply just go anywhere they sell car paint.... but make sure you have the right paint code.

and i have two spray gun one for primer / base coat
and one strictly for clear coat
i bought them both from advance auto parts, they work perfectly fine

But wtf is up with the front license plate?? I personally (maybe because I come from a country that actually uses umlauts) really dislike when people add umlauts and other accents where they aren't supposed to be to make it look "foreign"??

Thank you very much, yesterday on my way home from work there was a older couple driving and they seen my front plate laugh and wave. They were about 60, so at the next light the guy told me he has been buying vw for the last 30 years. he said he has owned 11. what a guy!
