so, I was trying to make a turn onto a narrow highway entrance, and began to slide. Not on ice, but on SALT!!!!! it was like driving on Marbles.

Wheels were turned, light brakes applied, and the car kept going forward...Right into a square curb!!! Popped the tire, Bent the wheel. ( A steel wheel, no less...)

The control arm (or whatever part is under there) bumped the upper part of the wheel well and left a good size dent and scrape.

What are some damage symptoms I should be concerned about? Obviously, its out of alignment.

what else would be affected by this? CV Joint? Control arm?

Any advice would be helpful.

TIA.

No matter what they tell you have them put it on the frame rack. Same thing happen to me and I still have a small pull.

1.) all CA's
2.) steering knuckle
3.) Wheel bearing
4.) sub frame
5.) steering rack
6.) TR (the whole thing)
7.) Axle
8.) Frame

If you have no idea and not sure about that, just bring it to the dealer to have them take a look at it and pay only the inspection fee and go have the repair somewhere else if you like (local dealer here in Fremont, CA charge $75, just to give you an idea), because is more mechanical issue than just the body work, and if you bring it to an autobody shop they may not notice/understand the details related to the suspension/TRE/Control Arm area. It's my two cents.

well, when i put the spare on, the only noticable damage i could see was where the bolt for the CA hit the roof of the wheel well. It didnt appear that any of the components were damaged.

So a dealer should look at the frame, or a body shop should look at the frame? Can a simple re-alignment be done for $75?

+1 to everything that was said above

quick way to tell if your control arm is probably bent is to tell the spacing behind the tire and the fender, your alignment we definetly be toast. Steel wheels are cheap so your lucky there.

Other incidentals such as the bumper, energy absorbers suck. But hopefully no frame damage, that really sucks.
