both mine have been clamp on, and you can turn the clamp on style to align it with how you shift as well :poke:

and jay i just noticed you used the stock skoda plastic retainer on the boot to console, if you switch the the passat plastic its a much much better fit and finish.

I'm just making it up then, matt. :poke: I'm telling ya, it screwed on.

I did use the stock skoda retainer on the boot. it is a little loose.

I screwed mine on, but it looks like it also has a place for a clamp (Just under the top of the boot, on the lower section of the knob). I just assumed you screw it down semi firm then use a clamp to lock it from spinning any further. This is a crummy cell phone pic with the boot flipped inside out and a pen up inside where the shifter stick would go. You see at the base of the knob is a flat spot perfect for a clamp to secure the knob tightly to the stick.

never said i didnt believe you, just said what mine were. and i gotta go with steve on this one, i bet its made for both clamp and screw on. i will try to screw mine in the morning :lol:

Is this still up for grabs and if not what about the factory one? I am in dire straights for a shift knob and do not want to install a Autozone or Pep Boys knob in my car!!
