Did you check your blinker fluid?

Youll most likely have to remove the lower half of the dash to get to it. Pop the side panel off there will be some screws in there holding it on and most likely three screws on the bottom of the lower dash panel. I am assuming here but thats how my CC and my MKIV were.

It looks like this...

If you put some tape around the switch to protect the surround from getting gouged, you can pry the switch button off with a knife or small flat screwdriver. Then you can grab the switch itself with a thin nose pliers and pull it straight out of the dash. Swap out the switch and slide it back into the dash. It will snap back in place. :wrench:

There is no fill hole so first you'll need to let it soak for an hour submerged in Blinker Fluid. Use ONLY the VW recommended fluid.

This was the very first thing I learned about my 2000 Passat, as it failed before I was able to get it out of the dealer parking lot. Pulled back around and asked for warranty service less than 5 minutes after being handed the keys. (GRIN) Then was surprised by the location of the blinker.

Me: "That was easy!"
Dealer: "Easiest thing to fix on the whole car. You'll find out."
