Thanks, Thanasi! What a great Thursday Morning surprise!

I will be posting a sticky with Dyno Forum guidelines. I am the Dyno Forum Nazi. :)

We can let this thread be a discussion on what the guidelines should be.

(1) My first proposal is that Dyno Posts should be consistently titled, with screen name and WHP/WTQ. Anything else you want to add would be after those two. For example:

D.Passat00 187/206 2000 20v tip
pancreas 168/201 2000 1.8t

Threads other than posted dyno charts can be titled whatever.

(2) Also, I'd like to see one thread per screen name, like in our member directory. If you get a new dyno with new numbers, it can be added to the existing thread. I'll change the title as I spot it, or you can PM me.

(3) All significant engine mods should be listed with the dyno.

(4) A post with a consistently bad link to the dyno chart will be deleted.

(5) By posting your dyno here, you give PassatWorld permission to host the image on PassatWorld.

(6) Please don't post crank figures - I consider them useless. If you have to post crank, then clearly label it so. And if you do post crank, leave the HP/TQ out of your title.

This is your forum, so I want it to be like you want it - but there has to be some organization. What do you think of the above, and what are your ideas?

Also - if you know of or run across any other dyno posts, let me know and I'll move them to here.

If you're going to let anything other than a dyno chart be posted, then I would think we should make actual dyno posts jump out. The idea of a standardized title is absolutely the way to go. Why not include the word "DYNO" in all caps, three letter engine code, displacement (and "t" if applicable), trans, numbers (HP/TQ, of course) and user. For example, I would post:

DYNO - AWM, 1.8t, 5spd, 170/166 - traubenberg

Cobbling examples together for fun (just using names off this post ...and I'm throwing engine codes in there randomly, I don't know off the top of my head what you actually have):

DYNO - AEB, 1.8t, Tip, 168/201 - pancreas
DYNO - AUG, 2.8, 5spd, 300/305 - Rusty is a GOD

That makes the post stick out, and it gives you an apples to apples comparison just by the header alone. Obviously, in the body of the post you'd want to list your lightened flywheel or Tip Chip or whatever.

Just whistling Dixie ...

I would also propose a little "Wall of Fame (or shame)" HP-ranked index sticky. For this to be a fair comparison, it should include only SAE-corrected numbers from the same type of dyno. That means Dynojet and my e-mail dynoplots (that have been corrected to match Dynojet). All other types of dynos would be totally welcome in the Forum, but not in the Wall of Fame/Shame.

I'll be damned if I know what ANYONE here drives.

All apologies, your highness. I did not mean to offend. As a fellow stick-shifter, I hope that you will forgive my trespasses and deign to let me live another day. Though my engine compartment be bone stock, I'd like to hang with you guys as long as possible. [Jimbo Jones]It makes me feel like a big man.[/Jimbo]

P.S. Does anyone have the stock dyno plot for a '05 (AWM?) 1.8t M/T? Just curious where I'm really and truly starting from. Chip scheduled for 08/21.
