Oh, and AIT (Air intake temp) sensor next to the TB on the intake mani. Clean it too.

I am having the same problem as described here with my 05 Passat. I realy hope this is it. I have changes the fuel and air filter, both o2 sensors and cleaned the MAF. Besides that the turbo blew. So i am sick of dumping money into the car with no change. Hopefully I can get a new puck and PCV from a local source. Rather than having to travel to a dealer. Can anyone tell me the correct name for the "puck"? OR if any of the parts stores carries these. Perhaps Napa?

Forget what they SAID it was...What codes did their computer give for the CEL. I got practically had to force the dealership to give me the actual information form the computer they used to diagnose. When paying $100+ for diagnosis, force them to give you a printout of any codes pulled. The service writer tried explaining to me there's no way to print that information out, it's just not accessible. Funny after 10 minutes of me arguing with him and pointing out that if I'm paying $100+ for diagnostic information, then that resulting information is for my use and not just theirs he "found" a way. He said they would print out the information, they just had to rescan it cause it doesn't get saved in the system.
This is why you request copies of any codes pulled BEFORE you sign the repair order and hand them the keys. As a former service advisor, I can tell you that he knew his technician had already moved on to his next job, and being the prima donnas that most of them are, would want paid another hour to drop what he was doing and hook back up to your car. Being a service advisor is NOT an easy job if it's done properly. You need to balance the customer's wants and needs (timeliness, low cost) with what the technicians want (loads of easy, non-diagnostic routine maintenances that pay well) and what the dealership wants (lots of high-profit customer pay work with TONS of upsells). It can be a rewarding job when done well, but I got out when the big chains (Autonation, et al) started gobbling up dealerships. It just became too much like fast-food, and the pay went down the toilet. Most of the service advisors I see these days have very little actual knowledge, they are just parrots who repeat what the technician tells them, if they can remember. Hard to find a good one who actually knows his shit these days.
