Stupid question, what color is my car?

This is going to sound relly stupid, but what is the official color name of a 2000 dark green Passat?

Actually neither is correct, its officially called Bright Green, Pine Green was introduced with the The New Passat (B5.5) cars. Bright Green was also available with the A4 Jettas & Golfs. When the B5 was first introduced in 1998, the dark green they had then was called Royal Green, which was replaced in 1999 by Bright Green. Pine Green was replaced in the 2004 Passat by Northern Green. Euro Passats have a green called Nordic Green. Previous Passats of the B4 generation had a green called Emerald Green.

Nope, the Royal Green was discontinued with the 1999 model, Bright Green replaced it. It only came in the 1998 model, just like Fjord Blue. There was also a lighter green called Elegant Green but that was dropped somewhere mid 1999.
