shift lock problem

Hi yesterday I finally got around to fixing my passanger side window regulator. I got everything put back together and was going to enjoy some fresh air and my car won't shift :banghead:. I replaced the brake switch and still nothing. what else could it be? I really need some help.

Did you park on an incline with the parking brake off? If so, the parking pawl in the trans can get stuck and needs more leverage to get out.

I am sorry I am not sure I understand. It is on a slight incline. by slight I mean <5 degrees. but I am willing to try anything. How would I correct this? I assume I could just jack it up to take the tension off of the trans. would this hold true if the brake lights are not working as well?

OK something new. I checked the fuse again and it was blown. there is an apperent short somewhere because it keeps blowing fuses. any ideas on this? Fuse #13

So the lesson for the day is... Look where you screw. it utrns out I put a screw through a wire harness.

At least you found it before it burned up the wiring harness.
