Hi,

I've been experiencing shaking in my Passat all the time. It's there at all times. I took it to a couple of mechanics and they couldn't figure out what's wrong with it using software diagnosis. I am not an expert mechanic, so I do not know where to start.

When you drive or even when it is at standstill?
If driving? Freeway or local roadways?
At what Speeds?

Where do you live? How has the wind been in the past few days/weeks?

It shake in both driving and idling. It does not matter where or how I drive. It always shaking. No high wind.

Pop the hood and start the engine. Look closely, if the engine is vibrating unusually (like.... a lot), flipsauce guessed it right.

If not, have you made or noticed any changes to your exhaust lately?

Mine shakes when it is in drive, but stopped. I cleaned out the throttle body and it took away about 80% of the shaking away. It's quick, and easy!

No changes to exhaust.
Engine mounts? Are these rubber spacers the engine rests on. The car is fairly new, B5 2000 38K 1.8T. I will try and clean the throttle body and see how goes. Anymore suggestions?

mine shakes too, but only when im going 110MPH.. :lol: 8)

I think some are misdiagnosing the ICM, check that :thumbup:
