Bringing this post back, anyone know if a Power rearsunshade

Hi Gang,

Does nayone know if a power rear sunshade is possible, I've heard that middle east versions and maybe asian market Passats had this as an option,

Fact or fiction?

The current model (B6) Audi A4 3.0 has power rear sunshades as an option. Someone needs to find out it it will work on the B5 Passat.

 

I know that the phaeton has it...it's pretty nifty but I dunno if it'll work in the passats

I have a '99 passat saloon (sedan). I purchased a manual rear sun shade from Vw a few years back. At the time I was looking through the parts catalogue , the power sunshade was displayed with all its parts. I'm not sure about the latest model , but I'd guess that you can buy the individual parts then mod the rear deck to suit.

 

Does the rear sunshade really work? Do any of you use them? My B5 came with one but I don't see he point.

 

The 2004 VW UK price list only lists one rear sunblind, and that is for the B5 (not variant)

I have no other details, but would have to assume (knowing VW prices :shock: ) that it is manual operation.

You guys need to think out side the box, im very disapionted!
Going for all these weak factory made parts. . I think im gonna have to order the parts on ebay and make my self my own power sun shade. . . .
