haven't a couple of people here put 5x114.3 on their B5s with no problems.
maybe with duct tape and some super glue. but I don't see how that could happen otherwise. 5X112 doesn't match 5X 114.3 (even after a few beers ;) )

I said the same thing. But 2 (that I can think of) have put Stern ST1s, with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern) on their Passats. Do a search.
gotta read the whole post on topics like this..

ought them at Les Schwab. I think these stores are mostly in the northwest. I don't want to sound rude. But since VW's take a 5x112 bolt pattern, 5114.3 will NOT fit our cars least with out some sort of conversion. I've seen this come up in a few post here. If they were interchangeable the there wouldn't be a difference. Anyways Les Schwab could get them in a 5x112 bolt pattern, with I think a 35mm offset. They fit perfect. They did end up using a stud conversion kit. And they're regular supplier didn't offer a hubcentric ring that fit to the stern wheels. So I actually need to find some. If you know any good places to look let me know.

As for the question about online pricing. I know 1010tires.com carries them. But only list the hypersilver color(which I would like to see in person) in a 5x112 bolt pattern. They sell them for around $233. I paid something like $220 for mine.

so again.. a 5114.3 will NOT fit our cars

there is no physical way it could happen otherwise they would have the same #'s.. pretty simple logic to me :)

it seems simple but in other threads two different people did it. i remember because I also told them it wouldn't and couldn't work, but it did.
I remember one of thoose threads...im pretty sure the guy thought his wheels were 114.3 and then when he actually went to mount them they were 112...im not sure about the other one you are refering to though...

Here is how i think about it: Can you mount 5x100 wheels? NO, so why could you mount 5x114.3, they have a larger difference than the 100s would. If that worked we could all run GTI and Jetta wheels...I mean it just doesnt seem realistic...if they are not the same they are not the same...then again there are some things on our cars that just dont make sense so i could be wrong...

someone had said the patterns were really the same and that it was the diameter of the studs that made the difference. :???:
the way that bolt patterns are measured and therefor they can't be the same. just as a 6ft tall guy isn't the smae height as a 5'10" guy...

It is true that a 5X114.3 will not fit our car, but it is possible that a wheel that was cast as a 5X114.3 was drilled at 5x112. My (and everyone else here that has them) ADR M-Sports are cast (and marked) as 5X144.3. However for our fitment, they are drilled at 5x112. So it is possible for a wheel marked 5X114.3 to fit... only thing being, it's actually a 5X112.
