I just got APR chipped....power is great...but turbo kicks in LATE.

I want/need crisper throttle response, without as much turbo lag.

Help me out all.

BTW: Next week, going to a full TT exhaust, k&n, evo DV (have a TT one now).

I'll take the bait. Define LATE.

You can always use Anti-lag :biglaugh: but that will eat your turbo up in a heartbeat....
I agree...define late.....are you talking the 2 second turbo lag that is incorporated from time you press on the gas, to the time you see your psi shoot up? Remember, it's not a supercharger and that psi isn't "in the waiting"....make sense?

Tip.

There's just too much lag time and not enough throttle response for me.

I know i'm not driving a V-8 S4, but come on...I know this little sucker can get better throttle response....

late is yeah, about 1-2 seconds....if i drive in tip mode, I have to keep it about 4k.

Basically, I'm looking for something to smooth out the power band.

I've heard that it takes 3-4 days for the car to "adjust" to the chip...but I think that's bullshit....

The big problem with the Tip is that it forces you to go through the dead, normally-aspirated spot in the powerband, 1000->2000 RPM, where you don't get any appreciable boost. Manual trannies miss this spot, 'cause you're usually starting about 2000.

Things that help this:
Lightweight crank pulley (done that, it helps a little)
Port-matched Intake (done that, it helps a lot)
Adjustable cam pulley (advance the cam timing for more low-end grunt - haven't done it yet, but will someday)
