Did you connect all wires to the starter correctly ?

 

Wow, you were right. It seems the charge of the battery runs through the starter from the alternator. I ran a wire from the battery directly to the alternator and boom, I got a charge. Damn. What do I do now though? Is there a wire I missed? I connected two wires to the starter when I replaced it. One that clipped on and a black one with a nut. I'm going to try to access the tomorrow when the sun comes up but I'm really hoping I can fix this without pulling the starter. Any advice?

 

Disconnect the battery negative terminal before you start working on that.
At the starter there is one small wire with push on connector,
and two large wires that bolt together on one terminal.

You are lucky if you haven't blown the alternator or set fire to the car, while driving with that wire floating around.

 

I think when I dropped the starter the wire was pulled out and disconnected. I found a picture of 2 wires bolted together which means I would have to solder it bad in place. Damn.

 

I doubt that you would need to solder anything.
Have you found the 2 large wires that should be connected to the starter ?

 

Hey man, I found the wire. It was caught between the heat shield and the starter. It took all morning but I got it in. Now I have a spare alternator... oh well. Thanks for all the help and responding to my post. Working on cars is not my specialty. Thanks again.
