Front Passenger Pillar Fabric Wet After Rain

I have a 1999 B5 w/ 60K. After a rainstorm today, I noticed that the fabric on the front passenger pillar was wet. I do not have any cracks, chips, etc. in the front windshield or the black plastic lower apron. The leak is too high on the pillar to be the apron.

I am assuming that the polyurethane seal on my front windshield has delaminated from the cabin frame. Due to Christmas, I have to wait until Monday before an auto-glass shop will be open for business and can investigate. Since the car is out of warranty, the dealer referred me to the auto glass shop. I did note that the external rubber seals running up the pillars (along the windows) appear brittle. The dealer said that these rubber strips are only available with a new window!?

I ran a search on the site and did not locate any posts. Has anyone else experienced something similar? If so, what did you have done and how much did the work cost?

Thanks for the help.

If you have a sunroof check the drain holes. Possibly one may be clogged and causing water to back up.
I checked the moon roof drain holes, I could only find two in the front corners, and they were perfectly clean. I could not locate drain holes in the rear section of the moon roof cavity.

It has rained several time since the incident and the passenger pillar has not been wet!?

i had this after my windshield was replaced. turns out there was a big gap of sealant missing between windshield and a-pillar. my guess is you have some material missing somewhere as well. resealing the windshield might be a good choice.
