Euroswitch and handbrake question, please help

I have a 2001.5 and installed a Euroswitch. I disabled the DRLs by taping over the "b" pin. When I tried it out parked in my driveway (with the handbrake up), all clicks of the switch functioned properly (except I haven't installed the rear fog yet).

When I drove it, with the handbrake down obviously, I noticed that with one clockwise click, where only the city lights should be on, the low beams come on as well. If I click once more clockwise, where the low beams are "supposed" to come on, the low beams get slightly brighter than when it was in the first click clockwise from the off position.

Now, all other positions are fine, such as first pull for the front fogs, they come on and switch positioned off, no lights are on, since the DRLs are disabled. All other lights are working properly, meaning the sidemarker lights and tails.

It's just that the low beams turn on when the switch is on the first click from off position, with the handbrake down. When handbrake is up, the switch functions properly.

What's the connection between the handbrake and lights? Doesn't seem like others are having this problem. It's not suppose to work like this correct? Any ideas, please let me know how to resolve this. Thanks in advance.
