Delivery Delay on new CC

Hi,

I ordered a new Passat CC GT (170 DSG) on the 5th September 2010, and was told by the dealer delivery would be end of Nov, early December. I have just been told that my car is now due February 2011!!!!

On speaking to VW, they have said that they are making amendments to the emissions rating of all cars, so all production has been delayed until that is resolved.

Has anyone heard this before, or is this just spin??

Thanks

You in the UK mate?

I heard it was possibly due to a shortage of chassis as it's used on pretty much everything at the moment! (Passat, CC, A4, A5 etc.)

I ordered a GT 170 too on 13th Sept! No build week date yet! :-( To be honest if it's gonna be February I hope it's delayed until March then at least it'll be the new reg!

I read somewhere (possibly on here) that they were adding BlueMotion tech to all TDI CR 140 CCs. Though I don't know if it's just the Standard CCs or the GT 140s will get it too. I'd quite like Stop/Start and Brake Regeneration but I don't want the crap tyres and taller gear ratios! It's a GT after all, I want it to be quick and to grip well!

Let me know if you get any more news bud! I'll do the same!

Slow delivery times

I ordered my CC GT 6 weeks ago and was told to expect a build date within two weeks. As similar to you guys on here, no build date yet provided. Dealers reasoning for delay - "a problem with the sat nav units that are being provided by a sub-contractor"

My dealer in Cardiff even suggested I ring VW UK when I complained so I did -VW UK said that they could not tell me any more other than what the dealer said however when I pushed them, their reason for the delay was "there is a new line in the process of being set up for production of this car and it is behind schedule"

All seems very strange where you order a new car and they cannot tell you when it may be built. How long is someone expected to wait even just to find out when they may get a car? Clearly there is a big problem as they couldn't give a s**t about the customer as they know there is nothing they can do. I have never bought VW new before, really fancied the Passat CC, but going off the idea on a daily basis due to total frustration at not being given a decent answer. Also begs the question as to what else may be wrong with it when it does arrive - that's if it ever does.......................rant over!

Big Delays on Passat CC

Hi

Just thought I'd share my experience with others. I ordered my CC on 31st July and order was accepted by VW on the 9th August.

To date I have still not received a build date. VW dealer is apologetic but to be fair are being let down by very very poor information from VW, who quite frankly seem to be intent on imitating British Leyland standards of service.

I've been told delays are due to week 45 changes. Apparently this is the supply of blue motion technology on diesel engines.

However what is completely unforgivable is the sheer lack of information on likely delivery dates.

To paraphrase an old VW advert ' if only everything in life WAS as reliable as....'

I think VW need to revisit those values in terms of customer service.

So for anyone being told 8-12 weeks for delivery I really think your being led up a rather disappointing and frustrating road!

Delays

It also strikes me that the build date - when given, will mean the car will be four months following that point as clearly none of the cars that we have ordered yet have been started. On top of the inevitible VAT increase, manufacturers working on new financial years will also undoubtedtly put the price of the car up! They are complete to**ers for not giving clear information. Really sorry to hear how long ago you ordered your car - I thought my situation was bad!

Re - Delays

Ordered and paid deposit on CC GT 170 in early June and was originally advised delivery would be Sept. After much delay I was eventually (early Oct) advised that confirmed build date was first week in Nov (last week) but still awaiting confirmation from dealer that it has actually happened. I am told these delays are due to demand of DSG transmission - it seems their excuses change depending on what the guys at VW had for breakfast!

cant see any of us getting are cc before the end of the year.didnt oeder the dsg gearbox so think that answer is out the window.but the bluemotion is looking more like it.hope they dont change anything else ie. wheel size.this could be my first and last vw

#18 ·
I wouldn't imagine they'd change the wheel size, as you could reject the car on the grounds that it's not what you ordered! I'd like stop / start and brake regen but I don't want the jigh Nylon content tyres! I don't want the bluemotion badge either! (Went for badge delete!) I don't suppose I'll get my car until late Feb judging by the dates some have ordered theirs on here! It's a real shame!

couldnt agree with you more fasteddiegt when mine eventually arrives my first job will be debadge.if if comes that late on next year i will request to wait for new reg. and let them wait for my money.but stop / start and brake regen does sound good and should add another 5 mpg

Passat cc delays

Ordered my tdi 170 gt dsg in august. Dealer admits that he has no idea when it will be delivered. My current lease car goes back in december. However dealer has persuaded vw to provide a hire car free of charge until i get my cc. Generous but slightly daft in my view. Why don't they just get on and build mine? It might as well be march and new reg now. Hope it's worth the wait.

mines a lease car order to but its my first 1 so need to hold on to my old car till it arrives was hopping it would come before i needed to tax it again.
who ever gets there first should post the date and the date of order, that should give the rest of us some idea when to expect our orders to turn up

Ordered a diesel 140CC September 1st - still waiting for delivery date but have been told the engine will now be blue motion and the paint work has been upgraded to metalic black. VW has said that if the car does not arrive by Jan 1st they will supply a loan car untill it does arrive.
The lease company has intimated that due to the very favourable lease deals offered over the past few months too many orders have been placed in the UK, this combined with the scheduled upgrades of the engine has caused the delay issue

I placed an order for an Autumn brown 140 GT back in September and was told at the end of October about the factory delay after I'd already sold my previous car and was making do commuting on my sports bike. I got on the phone and got flexible with requirements and found a Reflex silver 140 non-gt sitting in UK stock with the RNS-510 system.

I picked the car up at the beginning of the week and am loving it, if any of you guys are willing to be flexible on spec and colours I'd say have a good snout about in the currently available UK stock and you could be in your new CC well before xmas

That was one of six that were in stock, at the time these were above my monthly lease budget, but after I had placed the order for the GT140 I received several offers for the stock cars within budget - missed opertunity - good luck with your car

Thanks :) you should look into the cancellation policy in your lease contract, I too had committed to an order with a lease company (VWFS), but as I was outside the 30days window of a expected delivery date cancellation was just a matter of a short email. I then took up a fresh lease on the in-stock car with VWFS again albeit through a dealer this time as opposed to a web based provider, either way people you're not stuck with your orders until the cars arrival is imminent.
