installed my cheap boost gauge last week. its been throwing a p0418 secondary air injection code for a few days. the gauge is teed at the manifold-fpr hose. first i reused the hose, then i replaced it with new rubber hose. What should i be looking for? i think im suppose to be looking for an air leak. maybe i'll check the hose to the gauge, and if that doesnt work i'll uninstall it and replace the manifold-fpr hose again and see if the code goes away.

any suggestions or tips would be much appreciated

That code does not appear to have any relation to the FPR line or your install. It's a code for the SAIP relay IIRC.

Yah yah yah, Death to the Infidels and all that... ;)

Holywar: I'd just replace the hose like it was (leave the gauge loose) and see what happens. It sometimes takes a day or so of driving for the code to clear on it's own if you don't clear it with an OBD reader or VAG-COM. It's possible it could just be coincidence, the Secondary Air Injection system causes problems ALL the time...
