Don`t suppose it`s something to do with the Fluid level...I`ve not checked that for a while.....

Don`t think so as VAG-COM say it`s clean, in fact it says it`s all clean..... Maybe my VAG-Com is knackered!! :lol: :lol:

I think I`ll wait until it`s light and check the fluid level...... Don`t think I`ve ever topped up brake fluid on any of the cars I`ve owned, admittedly that`s only 3 (including my Passat) but hey... I did do a full fluid change on my old car though, along with some brake lines and new pads.

Does anyone know what fluid is in these from birth.... DOT4 or 5 or 6 or whatever, I doubt it`s eve been changed so that might be a job for the summer.

Any issues arise from topping up with the wrong spec fluid i.e mixing it?

 

Top off your fluid, its low, been there done that. happened when I went to stock calipers for winter. no worries.

 

Yeah I'm guessing fluid. Remember that brake fluid should be changed ~ every 2 years, regardless of mileage. It absorbs water and becomes less efficient at doing its job.

DOT4 fluid. Nothing special.

 

Brake pad wear sensors. Time for a front brake job.

 

Well it aint the front brake pads, they`re almost new but I have topped off the brake fluid and so far... so good.

Been a busy boy today and not finished yet so hopefully I`ll get chance to test it out on my next trip.

Anyway I got the Fluid from VW so it`s the proper stuff and they only had 1 litre cans of it so I`ve still got enough to do a full fluid change in the warmer months.

How long will this stuff last in the can? It`s tightly capped but oviously has been opened. Will I get a couple of months?

I have the same problem at the track - took me a few laps to figure it out, but it's kind of good that it happens. Only on corners - go figure. You must be pulling some g's!

 

I had the exact same problem about a year ago on few particularity cold mornings when I was getting on the highway. Rather unnerving, but it was just low fluid.

OK, been getting this randomly over the past couple of month with the hand/park brake light on the panel flashing.

Turning right,sometime driving straight, seemingly only when it`s colder.
First I check Fluid level, that was in level. Checked ABS sensor wiring, was good condition.
Done the Electronic diagnostic, no faults. The brakes seem to work fine.

Did anyone know whats wrong?

The OP's was low fluid.

If your fluid level is OK check the sensor, the float has been known to stick.

 

wheel speed sensors maybe?
