B5 manual driver's seat doesn't go back far enough?

I've had this "problem" for a while now, and didn't care very much. My manual seat doesn't go back far enough when it is anything above about mid-heigth. I checked the seat tracks, and the seat is going back all the way. I imagine others (especially taller people) find this bothersome. I like to ride high, but I can't, because my legs are longer than a 9 year old's. Anyone else have thoughts?

May sound silly but look for umbrella(s), water bottles and floor mats getting in the way of the seat or the seat tracks...

Wow that is interesting. I am 6'5" and have never had a problem finding room. I don't normally floss my ride with the seat all the way back either. Are you a pro basketball player?

I and my bro are 6' and taller and I usually ride with the seat all the way down and all the way back (which makes people in the back feel like they're riding in a bus they're so much higher). The way the height adjustment works is that it ratchets up and slightly forward at the same time so it'll go farther back with the seat all the way down than with it up. The thing I (and a taller friend of mine with a GTI)wish was different is that the steering wheel come out farther and tilt down further.

Indeed. When the seat is down, it goes back plenty far, but ratcheted up, my knees are bent, and I'm only 5'9".
