Yep you can, you should find several post on it, you will need the whole console (peice around the shifter and the armrest, also the ashtray) you will also need The Ebrake from a 2001.5+ passat.

Check out ebay, sometimes you can find them there.

Note that the beige colors between B5 and B5.5 vary -- pretty significantly in my opinion. Many of the B5.5 interiors are a yellow-creme color where the B5 beige interior is really light tan.

You are correct. When I did it in my B5 I used beige and black pieces. It made it unique and hard to see the differences in beige colors. You are best off getting the pieces from a bone yard as they are very expensive from the dealer. You also need to buy a new e brake handle which is pricey. The actual install is very easy to do.
