Auto transmission slipping

Earlier today while driving it seemed that my transmission slipped out of gear. I was slowing down, approaching a stop sign and I just gave it a little gas and nothing. A few seconds later it was all fine and there weren't any noises or clunks. A few months back a similar thing happened when I slammed on my brakes and when I went to accelerate again it wasn't in gear. The transmission shifts very well otherwise
Is this going to get worse or can a simple transmission flush cure this issue?

Thanks!

Nope, never had it changed. At this point with 100k on the clock I don't know if changing the fluid is the best route. It seems people have both positive and negative experiences with changing trans fluid at this point.

Besides I am thinking about a new car anyway.

My tranny wasn't doing what yours was but instead, mines aren't shifting gears. None of my gears shift smoothly, plus i did a flush of the tranny fluid and refill. Nothing helped, so i guess i will be digging deep into my pockets to fix the tranny. My tranny sometimes shifts smoothly when i use tiptronic though. How much would you guys think it would be to get a tranny swap for a manual transmission.

better off selling the car. the cranks are different, you would have to remove the engine as well to change that.

Bro...I have the same car. Flushing the tranny is super easy. I can walk you through it in a few PMs, as someone else did with me, and I've now done it about 3 times myself. You can pick up the Redline D4 in a gallon jug from jeggs.com, or you can find an indie mechanic and have them do a simple pan drop, filter change, and refill for you.......

Don't sell your car....don't think the tranny is going bad until you change out the fluid and filter.

Thanks for the offer swcrow! Had it checked out today and they recommended a fluid change. Seems like a good shop so depending on how much they charge I may be doing it myself. If its really easy I will give it a shot.
