I repairing my 30V V6 in a 2001 B5.5, and part of that involves new cylinder heads. I'm reinstalling the cams, and want to double check the timing on the cam chain.
It comes down to 'how to count 16 links'. As you know, there are supposed to be 16 rollers between the notches.
As you can see, the notches on the cams don't exactly line up with a groove in the cog. They line up with a spoke, so I'm not sure whether to count the links on the inside or outside of the spoke. I'd really like it if someone who has done this before could take a look at the install here and confirm if it's correct or not.
