2008 Passat B6 BPY Turbo: Parking Brake Fault Then Some

Hello

My parking brake fault shows up on the heads up display and the parking break button blinks. When I push the parking break only one side of the car lifts up. When I was driving away from a complete stop with the parking brake pressed I drove away dragging the driver side rear wheel which was locked. I stopped and turned off the parking break, then drove away without any obvious problems other than the fault showing up on the heads up display.

I get a fault on my little V-Checker but I can't look up the code.

The breaks work fine when driving, it is just the parking brake.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Matt

You have a faulty parking brake motor on the side where it isn't engaging. Not hard to replace, but don't buy from the dealer, you'll pay way too much.

P.S. you may not want to put your phone numbers in your posts, it's a good way to get them indexed by search engines and ruin your privacy!
