WRX, maybe if chipped, but definatley not and STI

Well in my B6 (chipped) I'd try with a WRX, but not an STI ... I'd park the B6 in the garage and get this out :) No it's not stock (close to about 480 HP) and it actually scares me sometimes. But really why waste the gas :) I know the car is fast :)

Why is a Passat more mature than a Legacy? Just wondering, because I'm considering both (in wagon form).
the legacy gt sat lower, had less head room so getting in and out was not as easy. less back seat room and no rear air vents for passengers. the ride was a little stiffer and I was tired of shifting all the time. I averaged around 18 miles per gallon.
I will say that it was the most fun car I've ever had and it begged to be driven hard. if you lack control and are ticket prone then I'd skip the legacy gt.
It wants to race everyone you pull up against and is in some ways the ultimate sleeper.
no traction control on hard launches needed!

Thats a nice charger/magnum but even with 480 hp, the WRX sti will smoke that car on any 1/4 mile. I've seen these wrx sti's destroy monsters. They don't peel out off the line and there awd systems are one of the best. So no, I can't see any passat even trying to redline there chipped 2.0t's to keep up with a WRX sti. WRX sti killer is the porsche 911 gt 1-4

might have to disagree a little with you ....

This would be a test of driver vs. driver ....

The charger stock runs 1/4 mile in 13.5, the wrx sti 13.4 ... with the extra 55hp and torque in the charger over stock and a equal driver I am pretty sure the charger would beat the STI. Now I have had only 1 STI driver try to pass me, key word was TRY. I owned a WRX (non-sti) and they are amazingly fast off the line, but if the driver can't get that thing into second gear quick enough it is all over for them. Funny How off the line it comes down to traction and driver more than anything when the cars are so close in specs.

I love my B6 and didn't buy it for a performance car, but after I drove it and had it chipped ... I said WOW this thing is pretty fun to drive. I am not gonna race every body that comes along, but it is good to know that when I step on the gas it goes without hesitation.

Actually, SRT-8's run 13.0 after about 12K miles on them....the 6.1's take a while to break in. Upper 12's is not uncommon, either.
How many miles on yours, watch? I'm at 3500 on my Magnum SRT-8.
I've had lots of various cars TRY and pass, too.

I own a WRX and the real issue is getting them into 2nd gear period. VW's are beautifully refined when compared to our Rex's. The WRX is a road MONSTER, but it does lack comfort and convenience options that I'm looking forward to in a VW. Besides, I can't wait to get my hands on a 4Mo W8 and see what trouble I can get into!

I'd like to try running my 3.6 B6 or my 1.8T A4 against a WRX, although I know there's not much of a contest, (I read 6.2 sec 0-60 for the 3.6 somewhere...), but my gas-saving commuter vehicle will be happy to meet up with an STi any day of the week :p
