Re: Window Fogging... Can't make it stop (torid110)
I have not had any problem with window fogging this winter in our variant, and I don't run the A/C at all (well, once a week for 10 minutes to keep the seals lubed). I do keep the recirc button disabled, and I have dumped the water out of my monster mats every now and then, when I've tracked in a ton of snow.
You aren't, by any chance, getting a sweet smell in your car when you run the heat, are you? That would signal a leak in your heater core, which creates a b!tch of a fogged window problem. Nah, I guess since your A/C is clearing it, it's not that (eh, I'd check my coolant level anyway, to be sure).
I'd also check all around the car and see if you have any water pooling. Look in and feel the carpet in the back seat footwells, look in the trunk (spare tire well), and in the passenger front footwell. You want to make sure that you don't have any standing water that's causing this.
The back footwells have been a leak source for some members. And the A/C drainage line might be blocked, letting condensate water leak into the front passenger area.
If this all checks out, the first nice day, I would pull all the mats out of the car and let everything dry out. 'Course, you're in Oregon where it's probably tons more humid than it's been here in the East this winter (cold, cold, cold this year!), so maybe it's something you just gotta live with. Any other Northwest members with this problem?
