Why does anybody do anything as a hobby? I think it's more about the process and seeing what you can do. Plus, you get to drive a nicer car than any of those other options... That said, I'm totally stock and will be forever.

some people want to have the ultimate fuel efficent monster, others want a quatermile monster.

passat is probably not the best car to get the best fuel mileage either... you are better off getting a fiat panda

 

I'd rather get a VW Lupo, but my main reason for getting a Passat was safety, as it was the safest car in my price range. If I had more money I would have gotten the E class Benz because it's even safer than a Passat.

 

Or you could just get a go-ped and put a R1 motor on there and then take that cross country..

Anyways the Fiat Panda reminds me of my Honda moped. I just drove it today for a quick run to the grocery store. I hit a mind boggoling 40 mph going down hill! I'm not complaining because it gets 70mpg.

Those are stock times for a B5.5 1.8T Tip from one of the magazines.
If you think 100-130 is slow acceleartion, you should watch one of the videos for 130-155. now that is what I call slow acceleration.
