I Have a 2001.5 4 cl Turbo with about 72,500 miles. At what mileage should i have the T-Belt / Water Pump Changed Thk You
Probably not...look for a local euro indie & they will do it...probably much cheaper labor rates too.TangoandCash said:thks guys going to change ASAP......dealer also told me at 100,000 miles...not taking a chance doing it asap..regarding....esctuning...if i purchase the kit do i bring it to VW to install...don't think they will
If you're under warranty and you want to roll the dice, then follow your dealer's advice. Otherwise, get it done ASAP.PrfctPrep10 said:wait wait wait a second!!! THe deal told me about a month ago I could wait until at least 100 thousand miles. Right now i'm a little over 60

Technically speaking, yeah, they're right...quoting directly from VW's maintenance schedule. However, that schedule is wildly optomistic on that front. The editors of the Bentley manual shows the scheduled replacement at 105K, but with a footnote that their recommendation is at 60,000 miles.TangoandCash said:thks guys going to change ASAP......dealer also told me at 100,000 miles...not taking a chance doing it asap..

Yeah, good luck with that. You really think theyll pay?? Nope.cbx said:Scheduled at 105k and recommended at 60k!!!!???? What kind of an f-ing buffer is that!? That is bullshi@! Dealer told me 105k replacement...so I am having mine CHECKED at 60...if it breaks before hand, VW is paying for it!
You are being very near sighted and stubborn. If you want to have your car stuck at the dealers' for 2-3 weeks, at least, while they find all the parts, and then hope they put it back together again correctly, go ahead. Since the powertrain warranty is only for 60K miles why do you want to pay for all of this re-bulid work anyway:crazy: ?cbx said:Scheduled at 105k and recommended at 60k!!!!???? Unless you are on a original owner warranty of 100000mi/10yr (pre 2002 I believe), if it breaks before the scheduled 105k VW won't pay for it. I just had it checked under the 40000mi maintenance schedule by the dealer and they said it checks OK. If it breaks between now and the next scheduled check it's on VW's bill. If I didn't have the 100000mi/10yr warranty I would be changing it around 60000mi.cbx said:Scheduled at 105k and recommended at 60k!!!!???? What kind of an f-ing buffer is that!? That is bullshi@!
