Ticking relay, any way to narrow down?

I have an annoyingly loud ticking relay that I cannot figure out. It only occurs when driving at a constant speed at higher RPM's. If I'm in 3rd doing 20 mph, it will not click. If I speed up to about 40-45 in 3rd and hold that speed and gear, it will tick all day long like a clock. It usually does this on the highway for long periods of time which drives me nutty. If I let off the gas, it never clicks.

I took the lower part of the dash off about ten times and it almost never ticks when I drive around like that, go figure! That led me to believe it was something with the daytime running lights since you have to disconnect the harness when you take that piece off. But, I took that relay out completely and it still ticks. Anybody have any idea which relay or fuse may be bad? How can I diagnose this better? I have checked every fuse, but none are blown. This ticking even occurs when every single powered item is off while I'm driving. Any ideas?

Thank you! You just might have resolved my ticking issue. Ever since I got a Euroswitch, I have an annoying tick which I initially thought was coming from the steering. I will cover up the TFL and see how that goes. My 56<x> is already covered.

Do you have a Euroswitch? Does anyone know if the Euroswitch has any relays in it?

I still have the ticking issue. I got an idea to resolve it from your post.

TFL stands for something (possibly daytime-running-lights) in german. It is one of the connector pins behind the headlight switch. Definitely present in the Euroswitch, don't remember if it is present in the US spec switch.
