Hi everyone, i am new here and am taking suggestions on what to start doing to my passat. It is a 2000 V6 5spd wagon and I am just looking for new ideas. I was thinking about starting with tinting the windows, painting the sideskirts red, then some suspension mods. What do you all think? By the way, how do you like the one-of-a-kind (on a passat) color? Thanks for the input.

Welcome to the club! This is a GREAT place to hang out, you will love it here! Tinting the windows is a great start. And like b5pr said, slapping some rims on with a lowered suspension are mods that create a whole new car. If you are looking for some great mods with great deals, visit The Marketplace Forums. I will forewarn you though, watch your wallet! This place tends to suck it dry! :)

LOVE YOUR COLOR!

Have fun, and happy modding!

Sounds like a good plan. As stated above, the Marketplace Forums are a great place to start. There's a couple great group buys going on right now for shocks and springs...

Also, if you're a Do-It-Yourselfer, the Info Forum has some great write-ups on some mods you can do. Also great info on how to keep your beloved VW maintained.

Congrats and love the color...

It is actually a weird story. Here it goes: In 1999 a VW executive came over from Germany and had this car specially built for himself from the factory. I bought it in 2000 exactly as it sits with only 4500 miles on it. The car is a GLS V6 5spd. But it has the rear spoiler, GLX wheels and a few other GLX options. The front air dam was painted tornado red at the factory. The reason the car was painted tornado red at the factory was because thats the way the executive wanted it i guess, i think it might have been because the car was used in commercials and other advertising for VW and they wanted a color that would stand out. They only made two B5's in the world this color from the factory; one sedan and one wagon. It is kind of a fun story to tell and its kind of cool to be unique, color wise.
I was thinking about doing a 1.5-2.0 inch drop and Audi RS4 rims or even the new A8 rims...post-tinting of course.

DONT tint the tails. Drop that with some coil-overs, and get some 18x8 or 18x8.5" rims and tires. HID(xenon's) w/clear cornerss. Votex or RS side skrits with either the Dietrich RS4 rear end or the Votex rear.

Rich :)

I love that color. I would limo tint the whole thing, get the sides and rear valence done red, drop it a couple inches, add 18" or 19" BLACK staggered deepdishes with polished lip, black Euro rub strips, smoked angel eyes and corners. HOT.

yes, pics stolen from the 'tex... :rolleye:

i knew i'd seen pics of this color before! I'd say make your car look like the one in these pics- mild drop, clear corners... oh yeah, and those rub strips!
again, great looking variant.

^^^Ignore him, the euro rub strips are money.
True! They are money.... a wast of money :p  Why would you want to put something on your car that will fade and look like crap after years of UV exposure? Why do you think so many here have had their lowers painted (*Cough* James *Cough*)?
