welcome to the club. you should tell the seller that you want the car inspected with your technician or take it to the local auto shop to have them checked it for you. I don't know much how it works in ireland but here is us, they charge around $50 to do complete check, including the frame and electrical, engine.

 

Anything in particluar i should look out for? Is there some major service which should have just been done/ or due shortly?

The timing belt should have been done at 60k miles so check that on the records.

6 speed, is that as handy as it sounds?

Just means you get better econ on the motorway, the downside is more cog swapping everywhere else.

Highline i take it is the highest spec one?

My highline has xenons,front fogs, and 17" wheels instead of those 16"s.
That one, has none of that for some reason? Maybe the only standard for the highline is heated leather then? (i take it it does have leather?)

 

hmmm is there someone that lists the differences between the different trim levels? would be intresting to compare.

One question though...What version is this called! Im pickin up the car on wednesday, is there some easy way of telling between the different versions?

As it has the 6sp box it must be the sport model with optional heated seats and wood wheel, those are the only two extras you have listed from the standard sport equipment.
