P0455, what can this be?

I went to Autozone after connecting a disconnected hose to the air filter that I thought was causing the code P0441. I went to Autozone to clear P0441 but the code P0455 EVAP Emission Control System Leak (Large) was also present. I am not sure if this hose could have been causing both codes, but I have driven about 50miles (3 trips) since I cleared the codes and the CEL didn't come back on.

In this picture hose C is what was disconnected.

Would this cause both codes?

Thanks!

Item A is your EVAP purge regulator valve. Check that the connections are tight and the valve is working. You can measure the resistance of the valve coil. It should be between 22 and 30 ohms. Is your gas cap seal okay? Can you smell any gas around the passenge side wheel well with car running. It could also be a leak around the EVAP canister behind the passenger side wheel well liner.

I just got an answer from VW Service what these codes were and they are fixing it now.

P0441 was the Purge Valve as many were suggesting...I drove for about a month with this on, thinking that was ok because it was a State Emission related code. But, that damaged the Charcoal Canister, that is why the p0455 code came on. Both parts are being replaced for $495 by VW.

What I learned from this...if P0441 comes on take care of it right away to avoid any further damage that will add more costly repairs.
