i've got 18x8 momo quasar IIs with 225/40 michelin pilot sport A/S.
the brakes in the front from bira.org. they have porsche 996 calipers with S4 rotors. the rear brakes are S4 calipers with A8 rotors.

i can't remember where i got them online, but they were around $400 ea. quite pricey, i know

That's how rare blowers must be to the 2.8 crowd. All these posts and only Joe notices that BIG HUNK OF SEXY METAL stuck to the top of the engine! Damn, if only I had the money... I know I know... Why not just buy a faster car... answer... to look at the eyes of other drivers' eyes light up when you leave them at the stoplight in a PASSAT :shock:

P.S. I would PAY you to make a sound clip of your car!!!

baritb, what numbers are you running with the SC in there? Also is your car 4 Mo or FWD (Tip or 5 speed)
Maybe one day i will SC my Passat.. Dont have the money to burn, but if after College i still have her, i will slap a SC and all the nice upgrades to go with her... That way i can be not only fast in a Passat, but a car that is 4 years old

My God I know alot goes into the installing of the supercharger, but 4 grand for those items in this picture? Why??? That is so amazing in my book.

You shoulda heard the G1 PES supercharger... now THAT was noise pollution!

 

before I put the SC in, i could definitely notice the intake noise. it was actually more noticable inside the car than outside, but not significant enough for someone not familiar with the 2.8 to know any different. now, with the SC, at lower RPM, the SC noise is barely noticable, but at higher RPM it's pretty much all you hear from the engine. inside the car, however, you get a nice mix of the SC whine with a deep exhaust tone in the back.

i know the SC kit doesn't seem like it includes that much for the large price tag, but if you take a look inside the manifold, it's surprising how complex the blower system is. I thought it was just a big turbine, but it's actually a bunch of small fan-looking things that spin in all crazy opposite directions. plus it probably took quite a bit of chip programming on behalf of GIAC to get the engine to handle positive manifold pressure. and i can't put a price on the feeling i get when I pull up to a stoplight in a station wagon and leave everyone else behind .
BTW, it's a tip 4 motion.
