Just bought my first VW, it's a Passat 2001.5 Black and clean, 55,000 miles

Well i just got four new Falkens 205/60/H15 from local Sears auto center, and now the car pulls right, took it back and they refunded me after there failed attempts at correcting the pull. They suggested to taking it to a VW dealer for further inspection. Has any of you out there gone through anything like this, if so let me know. Or is it a VW visit for sure... :banghead:

No the tires i replaced had even wear on them. So i think the Sears auto center is missing something.. I will call the VW dealer and see if they can inspect the car and suggest what course of action we should take...
Sounds like something is out of alignment. Maybe too much toe out? I've never heard of this happening with a just a tire change, unless you went to a significantly wider tire. 205 doesn't sound that wide.

Yeah i know the 205 wasn't that much of a jump in width, so i believe Sears just can't do the job ( i'm just knocking on the auto dept).
The tires are perfect no imperfections, so i believe it is all mechanical.

Falkens :-(

I also have a pull after installing Falken tires. Two turned out to be out of round and had a wild pull to them. The replacements were better, but the car still tends to follow the crown of the road more than the original Continentals did. At $45 each it is not so bad. I would be more upset if they were $100 tires. At least I am not crazy.

Ive got a set.. much wider 235. I dont have a pull but my car is freshly aligned. It is possible you have a very slight misalignment. stickier tires will emphasize that.
My only complaint with these tires is that tire warehouse cant seem to get them perfectly balanced.
