I recently bought a used shark fin from a PW member. When I did the install I discovered that the cable on the shark fin was just about an inch to short to reach the cable in the car. ______ ______ No bueno, right? So I went and bought another on from DubStop hoping the next one was long enough. It is!
The two pieces connect, however the reception is down right terrible. If I stand outside of the car and physically place my hand on the antenna itself I can get a station and it's gone as soon as I remove my hand. Same thing goes for when I am holding the connection under the roof while I was installing. That is the only station I can manage to get...
Am I doing, or did I do something incorrectly?? I was unable to get the nut to thread on the post with the spacer piece in place (the crown with the plastic lining) so I am just using the nut. Is it because the wire is touching the nut and not the plastic I couldn't use?
Any help is appreciated. I have read a few threads on this and didn't find the info I was hoping for so I did use the Holy Search function.
Thanks,
Mike
