Continueing my question about lowering springs. Is it at all possible to lower just the front end of a car without lowering the back. For instance, I am trying to achieve a "rake" look with lowering the front end with 1.75" suspension and lowering the back with 1.5". Is it ok to lower the front, for instance with a 1.5" drop and leaving the back stock? Please get back to me and let me know.

Thank you,

Jarrett O. Gardner

I think the rake will be too much and correcr me if I am wrong but I think your going to run into front end geometry issues with a rake like that.

No, you don't want to lower the front with 1.5" springs and leave the back stock. That would be a bad idea. Your original idea of a rake, 1.75" F and 1.5" rear is still best acheived with a spring set and height adjustable shocks.

i have S_klass's neuspeed springs with the height adjustable bilsteins, so you can adjust your front, into a rake look, its helpful for me because i can raise the front in the winter. but i personally think that the middle notch on the bilsteins creates a nice natural rake, and anything lower will give you that aggresive stance that you might be after ;)

just buy some coilovers. a used set of KWv2s won't be much more than a set of non-adjustables and then you can set the ride height where you want it. I'm thinking about selling my KWv2s to get some Weitecs but only because the green will match what I'm trying to do with my car.

Back on track, what Paul is saying is correct. You can pick up used Coilovers and get even more control over your ride height if that's your priority. COs are often $900-$1200 new so expect to pay at least $500++ for a set. Right about the $ for a new Spring/Shock set.

Before you go with coilovers, make sure you're cool with the ride quality. The one guy I know w/ KW COs says they're too stiff for him. The same suggestion goes for any suspension change.
