Very nice of your parents to buy you a Passat as a gift, I just hope with two speeding tickets they aren't paying your insurance as well! I think someone needs to learn a little responsibility behind the wheel....

goto http://www.valentine1.com I've had mine for about a year and a half, no speeding tickets, and it's saved my butt from a variety of speed traps (even the dreaded waiting-over-the-hill cop). Plus, if your parents paid for your car, you should have more than enough scratch to pay for it....

Re: How much did everybody pay for there Passat? (silverthug)

Silver- You're talking about VG-2 Detection. The cops use it here in the states, it's essentially a Radar Detector- Detector. If you have an inexpensive detector, the cops can usually tell if you have one by using this technology. Some radar detectors combat VG-2 by using one of two techniques: 1.) Shutting off, the radar detector, upon detecting a VG-2 signal, shuts itself off until it doesn't detect the VG-2 anymore. 2.) Cloaking, It essentially screws up the return signal that goes to the cops VG-2 detector. The V1 emplys the VG-2 cloaking device that makes it invulnerable to VG-2 Detection. So no need to worry about that. You can't go wrong with the V1, and the arrows are the best thing about it...

2002 Silverstone GLS with black cloth, Homelink, manual tranny 1.8T, luxury package: $22,300. There were no incentives at all on this car at the time.

NOt a bad price for a German sedan, turbo.
