it should display the temperature and above it should be the mpg and that other stuff that u can change

oh..mpg and temp...that's actually on the left side of the dash located on the lower part of the rpm gauge..i have 99 1.8t b5..

Yep, the 98s and 99s didn't have that hideous center orange display

We've got the backlit LCD on the left side. The center portion is reserved only for emergencies, hi-beams, e-brake, etc...

They recommended unleaded fuel for the 99's but for the newer they recommend premium.

it's the ashes from the smoke i was holding in my left hand..while taking the picture with my right hand...hehehhe

...hahha...oh..the picture was taken at night..so..the flash...made the pictures look dusty for some reason..

and yes..i'm chipped....greddy exhaust...random tech high flow cat...turboXS blow off valve...funnel ram air..and lot of extras...

That's OK, I rode down the PCH with my uncle driving his Winnebago with his elbows cause he had a sandwich in one hand and a beer in the other. That was several decads ago.

22. Go faster that 149mph, and take picture while driving. Make sure picture is focus as well.

Theres not a long enough straight road in NYC area without any cops on it to even try.. otherwise, I'd give you a run for your money.

I think a K04 is capable of 150 or so.

it doesnt really matter what kinda turbo you got, I was going 154mph the other day on stock turbo, the only thing that didnt let me go further was the gearing, cuz I was at 6600rpms. Turbos arent making much boost at thoese rpms.

now only if we could get the passat equivilant of a mk2 diesel 5th conversion

guys, I really don't think he's bullshitting. I hit 135mph on the speedo with my new B5.5 completely stock just after the break in period. It's really not hard to do.

It's OK to go that fast in a Passat. If you slam into a tree at 140, the variety of air bags will nicely cushion the impact, and allow you to exit the vehicle without a scratch. You just dust off all the talcum powder used to store the air bags, take out your cell phone, and call for a tow.
