Heater problem...little heat?

My Climate Control heater produces just a small amount of heat. The blower and fans seem to run fine. I am hesitant to take it in fefore I try to fix the problem myself. In 25 degree outdoor temperature it seems tolerable but below 20 it is a problem especially when the windshield frosts up and the defroster is ineffective. Is there a fuse that might be broken or something simple that I might try before seeking service? How about blowing canned air thru ducts? Thank you!

BTW...the Passat is a V6 2002 B5.5 automatic triptonic.

Try the Search Feature at the bottom of the page (hit the PassatWorld button). There are volumes of threads relating to Climatronic and no heat problems. Read through a bunch of posts to get an idea of what may be going on with your system and see if you can narrow the problem down. The Climatronic has some built in diagnostics you can take advantage of.
