I'm tentative...and thinking of letting ShokWaveRadio install it. I'm planning on red LEDs with a Blue ones to mark the 5s<p>So, 300 plus 4x$4 for blues = 316

I am not sure if I want to run an external sensor. I have a 2001.5 so I know I have the sensor built in. But does someone know how accurate it is??? Would it be better to spend the $20 and get the sensor or does it matter?

Please email or IOM a response. Thank you.

Last light should be B and not R, otherwise you will get 3 Blue lights.
Correct the post & looks will get the same pattern.

Good point, Ricardo, thanks. I was thinking that they should all be red there because it's over the boost you should be getting with the stock K03/K04 Hybrid. It shouldn't get light up, so it's a way to save cash

So this replaces the Tach??
No this will not replace the tach. It's a boost gauge.

What is peak boost? Im thinking of putting in a color at peak as an indicator. Is there a way to figure this out? or is it different with each chip?
Im just figuring out what to order, than I should be placing my order.

It's different with every chip. My UPsolute chip is supposed to have a peak boost around 14psi but I've also heard 15-16psi with this software, which is also where GIAC and APR are supposed to be. It will most likely also vary with any intake or exhaust modifications.

As for the DIY'er what exactly would have to be done? Is it as easy as plug and play or is there sodering the LEDS & stuff like that?

I would like to partipate in this Gb but it can get expensive with all the options, not saying it is not worth just a little out of my mod budget. :(

I'm working on a write-up on the whole procedure but my daily life is slowing me down a bit.

The Condensed Version:

1. Remove instrument cluster

2. Remove tach dial from instrument cluster

3. Make aluminum template for drilling LED holes in tach dial

4. Drill tach dial

5. Insert LEDs and glue in

6. Paint over LEDs to make opaque

7. Bend over anodes and solder together

8. Bend over cathodes and solder on wires

9. Tie up wires and paint assembly again

10. Solder separate LED wires to control board (this step may not be necessary)

11. Install completed tach dial back into instrument cluster

12. Splice 3 wires (+12v, ground and boost signal) into harness at the ECU connectors

13. Connect control unit to car and adjust

14. Install completed cluster back into dash

15. Go for a drive to marvel your handy work.

In hindsight I can honestly say that none of the steps are really that hard, it's just small detailed work that you have to be careful with. I'm sure you've seen my post with the pictures of some of the steps:
