I have just spent the last three quarters of an hour changing the wiper stalk on my 2001 passat 5.5 (AWT) due to a non functional dis .On completion the same result as the old wiper stalk,it will show the temperature and the journey 1,time elapsed, but I can't cycle through the other things or reset it.Is there anything else that can go wrong with these? I hope someone can help me with this as it could be useful to me if only I could get it to work!Could it be a fuse or is it the dreaded instrument cluster, thanks for any help in advance,Calum

I can't toggle through the different modes or switch between journey 1 or journey 2,I took the stalk that was removed in to work last night and had the electrician check out the switch for connectivity,it checked out fine!It 's got to be the cluster, what next?thanks for any help you can give/given(Atownpassat,pete 1) Calum

I know I can pick up a cluster (new) for ÂŁ75 off ebay, but I would rather fix the one I have as it's probably just a dry solder joint. It's not as if it isn't working at all,no pixels missing or anything like that,it's just stuck on the journey 1 / tempererature mode,if I could change it to mpg,I would be quite happy to leave it at that.I hope someone has a definitive answer to this problem, thanks Calum

I doubt the MFU is powered or operated by a special relay separate from the rest of the instrument panel. I would imagine that it gets its signal directly from wherever the stalk wires go to. You will need to open up the Bentley and figure out where the stalk wires lead, and work from there.

I would look it up myself, but I just moved and I have no idea where my Bentley is.

Wrong side ???

SirWired,it's you that drives on the wrong side of the road and even worse than that, the steering wheels on the wrong side! although you do keep the same pedal configuration as U.K. but some of you only have two pedals and one of those seems to be for a "bigfoot".Hans the german played a trick on my passat at the factory,I finally found the fuse pick for the fusebox,it was under the cover on the left hand side of the dash while the fusebox is on the right hand side ! German sense of humour ?

cheers Calum:lol:
