I looked at my coolant and it looks brown and really dirty. I know there are a lot of threads about this but I need to know how to do a coolant flush. Also how do you clean the coolant tank? help!

TIA

we didn't end up flushing the system because the coolant still looked pink so we just cleaned the tank. there was a spongy orange substance in the tank along with rust colored stuff too. it was totally weird. We soaked it in some coolant flush and got a lot of it out but it's still kind of gross. I might just get a new coolant tank. Does anyone know what that stuff is?

There is a reason why it turned to that color. I would recommend you flush the whole system just to be on a safe side. Hope someone else agrees.

had the same problem if its brown sluggy shit (means its getting bad )check your oil as you must be loosing some oil
The problem (common) the oil cooler has gone or is going and putting oil in the water.
easey repair.
