Dashboard Creek Question?

I looked up the fix for the dashboard creek problem. One thing I noticed is that I looked in the manual, and Air/heat comes from the location where we are supposed to stuff the caulk/styro tubing. I'm talking about the spot in between the window and the dashboard. Small amounts of air comes from that spot all along the window. Does anyone have any knowledge/experience with doing the mod. Any difference in defrosting ability in the winter?

In my owners manual for my B5.5 2003 1.8t It states that small amounts of air come out of the space between the windshield and the dash when air is on defrost, feet, and when on feet/upper vent combo. Can someone please confirm this?

I still have the geiger counter creek after the dashboard tubing/lubricant spray. Other creeks have gone away but one still remains, I might have to take a look some other places.
