the laws in PA? Will these work with a 5.5? Looks very tempting.

Lastly, any problems with using them as DRL's?
If you have a projector low beam , this will work perfectly , I believe all b5.5 come with projectors . I have the 8000k kit and never got a ticket or anything never mind 6000 k kits . so many cars come with Hids that is almost impossible to a cop to distinguish wich ones are factory wich ones are retrofit unless you use a stupid 9000K or 12000K purple , pink color , regarding using them as DRLs . If the DRL is just like the B5s ( lower voltage on the low beams ) I recomend disabling them cause the HID's won't work right .

does it come with instructions dfor hooking up? and do n e uses need to be change or n e thng?
Yes they come with very clear instructions and they are very , very easy to install , ( like 20 minutes or something ) and you can disconet the bulbs and install the original halogen bulb at any time , anywhere , like if you are afraid it wont pass inspections , you can open the hood , pop the hid out, pop a halogen in in less then 5 minutes.

lol i just read what i typed, and i guess i suck at typing... i was eating at the same time...

but the second question was SUPPOSED to say, "and do any fuses need to be changed" or is everything fine...

not that it matters, but i was jus wondering....

i think im totally down on this GB once i can get 260 dollars...

and Hella Projectors use H1 as low beams right?

Hella look a like are H1's

Fuses are suposed to be 15A each ( 1 fuse per bulb) , I don't know about the B5.5's but the B5's carry 10A fuses so they have to be replaced.

I'm not very electrically inclined. Would these work if I also bought Angel Eyes?
Yes . they will , just ask whoever you are buying the angel eyes headlights from, what kind of bulb it uses . I believe the low beam projector uses H7 , but I'm not sure so don't quote me on that.

Are the H4 hi/lo's built for the b5.5 (or any car with the halogen H4 bulb as the hi/lo beam), or in other words how do they differ from the other H4 low's.
As for cost, would it be $700 for a pair?
Thanks
Image
The H4 high/low beam has an HID bulb for low beam and a halogen xenon
filled bulb for the high .

( see fourth bulb from the left on the pamphlet at the top of this page)

The h4 low it's just for the low beam, so if you order this you will loose the high beam .

The price $ 350.00 is for the pair of high/low bulbs , pair of balasts , brackets , instructions and some mounting acessories.

So I guess I'm not following your original post.

Are the prices per side or for a pair? So, for a set of 6ks from Korea is it $260 or $520?

Also...what is the difference between the sets you have listed as 2 and 3? They are both 5k GE bulbs for the same price, but one has 6 months warranty listed.

I'm very interested in this.

I'm sorry it was a little confusing the price is per set . so you pay only 260.00 for the 6000k kit with Korean Bulb which will convert your low beams to HID.

I'm fixing the first post to make it more clear .

One last question...

Now that I am awake and not mind numbing tired, I have come to the realization that I have H7's as my headlights. I went outside, and to tel you the truth when I turned the car on without the headlights (DRL's) and then switched to the headlights they seemed to be the same intensity/power. Maybe I'm insane, but I would like to have DRLs, and the HIDs. Anyone know if the b5.5 DRL uses the same power (same power applied) as when you are in headlight mode? Soooooo close to the buy!!!

Tabamoura, sorry for asking so many questions but do you know which fuse i have to change on my 1999 B5? You dont have to answer right away, but if u make a write up, please include it. Thanks :) I just need to work a couple more weeks before i can afford these.

If he sells the H3 HID bulb then yes it will work. Putting an H1 in will not work. The B5.5 are H7 bulbs in the projectors. This is a viable way to HID. Lemme tell you, trying to take the lights apart on the B5.5 is amazingly hard. I think this is a good cost saving upgrade.

Looks great on your car.

I guess I'll need a H1 set for my HID-Look lights.

What is the major difference between the H1 Korean bulb and the GE bulb [other than $40
Image
]. Is the GE "whiter" than the Korean? Are the ballasts and mounting acessories the same? Just a different bulb? What is the weight of an unladen swallow?

I'm leaning more towards the GE which I'm assuming is more like stock. But you know what happens when you assume...
