Just getting ready to install my new badgless grill. I can't figure out how to remove the hood latch release tab without breaking stuff apart. Any suggestions?
Thanks

There is a metal latch at the inside end of the pull that you have to first flip up to release--put a small screwdriver into the end and lift up. Once you do that, you can then stick a flat-bladed screwdriver into the open area at the end of the pull where the pull splits into two pieces that have holes that fit into two pins. Turn the blade to force the end of the pull wide enough to fit over the pins, and pull it out.

A bit of a PITA when I first did it. My Kamei grill came with a diagram-- I will see if I can scan it and post for you. Or PM me with your email and I will send it.

Thanks for the help. I first tried yesterday while running out to the car between gusts of rain. When I couldn't figure it out I posted the question up here. After I got home last night (safely dry in the garage) I finally figured it out.
Got the new grill on and really like it.
BTW I had searched and found the instructions for removing the grill but it showed the "T" already removed. :banghead:

Be careful when prying the fork apart or it will snap like a wishbone. ;)
Actually, I found it to be a lot more flexible than I thought. I struggled a bit to get it back on, but it flexed OK and didn't snap. When you spread it, do it from the base where he "V" begins to form-- it is likely stronger there and there is less leverage. If you break it, you can get a replacement from ECS Tuning.

I suspect it might get brittle with age or due to engine bay heat. Mine is an '03, so not very old.

I just did this last night. It is definetely a tricky process but i found it is easier to have someone help you and hold the latch. Funny thing is, i installed the grille and realized it doesn't even fit. Has anyone else tried the JE Design mesh grille? Well if you haven't, don't. It looks like a good fit on the site but trust me. Don't buy it.
