Hi Robert- 99 Passat. I'm curious if VW sells the two fake wood/plastic door trim pieces (both driver's and passenger's door) separately. Doubt it, but figured I would ask. Mine is all cracked, and is starting to crumble. In fact, several of my plastic/wood trim has some sort of sun-induced damage - cracks, etc.
When you say "fake wood", do you mean the vinyl stick on pieces that were available through drivergear?

If so, then the answer would be No. They were only available in full kits only.

If you are talking about the real wood inserts, Then the answer is Yes. Each piece is sold separately, But I would need a VIN number or a specific shade of wood before I can begin to quote prices and part numbers.

Hi Robert:

I would like to know the part number for the trans pan gasket and filter for a Passat 2000 1.8T tip.
The pan gasket part number is 01V-321-371. List price is $47.58 and my price is $35.69

The trans filter is part number 01V-325-429. List price is $71.43 and my price is $53.57

I have a friend that owns an 04 GLI. She needs a replacement front axle and is having a hard time finding a replacement that doesnt come from the dealer. As I understand it hers is similar to those on the B5 in that it has an axle bolt as opposed to an axle nut.
Any vehicles in VW share whatever part number it may be?
Typically the answer would be No.

But there are too many variables in that question to give you a proper answer.

Some of the engine/trans combinations do in fact use a bolt in the axle end instead of a nut. But that would be the only similarity to a Passat.

The B5 generation passat has equal length drive shafts (well, close enough to equal length for the purpose of this discussion). The MkIV platform does not. It has long and short halfshafts.

Plus, If there are other vehicles that share the same part, it will have the same exact part number. Even in the aftermarket.

For example, If a 24v VR6 6 speed manual and a 24v 6 speed gti use the same drive shaft, the after market supplier will show the same part number. Or, atleast they should.

If you need any more information, Please feel free to send me a PM or E-mail as this does not pertain to Passat's and I would like to keep this thread all about B5 and B5.5 Passats.

My 2002 GLX has that style of mirror.
Thanks for the info. I have been proven wrong.

So, looking up the mirror for a 02 Passat GLX, (without all the proper information) I believe the part number would be 3B0-857-511-J-Y20 (grey) or 3B0-857-511-J-89H (Beige)

List price on the grey one is $328.20 and my price is $246.15.

List price on the beige one is $336.93 and my price is $252.70.

Hi Robert thanks again for this great resource. I have a 99 with the AEB 1.8 and I need a part number/cost on this vacuum elbow on the back of the intake manifold. Pardon the duct tape but something had to keep me on the road. Thanks!!!
That hose appears to be the one that attaches to the Suction Jet Valve and the intake manifold.

If so, The part umber for that one is 079-133-784-J. List price is $25.05 and my price is $18.79

According to ETKA, that part applies to automatic only 99 AEB's.

So if your car has an automatic trans, then that is the correct part number.

can anyone tell me where the temp sensor is located? and how do I replace it? is just a real quick plug and play type fix? car turns on and dies after first start in the morning, second start everything is ok....
You can find the CTS (Coolant Temp Sensor) located clipped into the coolant flange on the back side of the head.

For further information, please consult "The Garage" or the technical area as I know there is a write up in replacing it.

But yes, as long as your engine is cooled off and you have all the parts you might need (sensor, O-ring and spring clip), Then it will be plug and play.

whats the description for this part number: 8D0 813 545
ISOFIX bracket for child seat. Applicable to front wheel drive vehicles.

List price is $69.10 each and my price is $51.83 each.

Is this the same piece that is sold in the retrofit kit for much cheaper?

Whats the difference between those above mentioned and 01V 398 009 and 01V 398 429? i was about to get these from a VW/Audi parts shop but i was not sure when i saw the part number. The clerk told me they should fit on a 1.8/2.8 A4 Audi, as well as on a B5 passat, and that he had ran out of those you mention. Will these fit on my car as well?

Part numbers 01V-398-009 and 01V-398-429 are not recognized Vw part numbers. I do not know where those part numbers came from.

It is possible that the shop you went to created a "kit" and made up that part number. They may be OEM parts just assembled into a kit by the shop, but it is not an OEM kit.

Robert, check your private messages for more details. I don't want to clutter the thread.

I'm looking for the price/availability of the OEM antenna (entire base and stick) which I believe is powered/amplified. I'm also looking for the coax cable that runs from the antenna, down the C-pillar, across the back floor, forward along the center hump, to under the dash.

Steve, According to ETKA, the amplified antenna was used up until the 98 model year.

As of 99, it is a passive antenna.

The part number on the base is 1J0-035-501-F. It lists for $49.42 and my price is $37.07.

The antenna mast is part number 1J0-035-849-E. It lists at $29.18 and my price is $21.89.

The antenna cable appears to be a two part cable. The first part goes from the radio to the tunnel. It is part number 3B1-035-550. It lists for $11.00 and my price is $8.25. The second part number goes from the tunnel to the antenna. It is part number 3B9-035-550-B. It lists for $15.90 and my price is $11.93.

Unfortunately, the first part is no longer available. The second part is available. There is a possible solution though.

Make a new antenna cable with updated wires.

You would need part number 000-098-696 to connect to the radio, 000-098-698 to connect to the antenna and 000-098-656 to connect to those two wires together.

The 696 wire lists at $24.50 and my price is $18.38.

The 698 wire lists at $25.10 and my price is $18.83.

And the 656 wire lists at $32.57 and my price is $24.43.

The only reason I know this is because I had to do it on my Jetta.

You can look up on passatplus.de to see what these wires look like.

Can I replace my antenna base & mast with the 1998 amplified one?
The coax cable I need is the one that goes from the tunnel to the antenna.
I'll give you a call this week and we'll get an order going. Thanks for your time.

The antenna question I can't answer. I have never seen an amplified antenna So I don't know what the connections look like.

I have tried googling the part number, but couldn't seem to find any images.

Other than that, I look forward to helping you.

I am looking for center caps for some RS4 replicas. The current caps measure 2 5/16 in diameter. I've got a pic of the wheel if it helps.

Sorry man. I forsee a few problems here.

The first being that I can't deal with Audi parts.

And considering they are reps you have, I have even less of a clue of where to start. If you can look around and find some Vw wheels with a similar center section I can get you a price on that particular Vw center cap.

But I can't do anything with retrofits (which this technically is) or cross branding.
