Are you sure your ABS system is actually working? I suggest you test your ABS braking ASAP. Find a wet parking lot somewhere, brake hard and see if you get the pulsing. Mine did the same thing and the ABS computer had to be replaced. Yes, its expensive, but if your ABS system isn't working its worth it, especially this time of year.

I tested mine just a couple of days ago on some wet leaves when some bozo ran a stop sign. Definitely worked and boy am I glad they did. Probably saved us both and not something I'd ever want to be without.

My local dealer told me that they advise customers to not even bother fixing ABS problems because they are too expensive and not worth the hassle

(unless they are covered under warranty, of course

)

The ABS system works - I've had plenty of opportunity to test them go to and from work everyday.

It's just embarrassing because I love my Passat but when somebody gets in, I start the car, and lights and alarms start flashing. Then I have to explain that they are safe and I'm too cheap to spend over $1200 to fix a flashing light.

Just recently had the same problem...exept the ABS was'nt working and that annoying beeping sound.....I got a used one with 5k on it for $285.00...problem fixed..
