Good luck finding a 1.8T 4mo wagon 5MT though.

 

I know of a few A4 5speed AWD sedans. I've only seen 2 or 3 passats on here that were 1.8 and AWD though.

One here. 1.8T, 5 sp. manual, 4mo, Samoa Red. Not the best pic, I need to take more when it's clean.

 

I have one. It's a green 04.5 1.8T 4-mo 5-speed. Currently it has 39k miles on it.

I can barely get my wheels to chirp on my front-drive 1.8t. I'd think the only practical engine for a 4-Motion car would be the V6.

 

Really, something wrong with your car. Mine will leave a patch at least 100ft long. I have a stick though.

1.8T 4motion wagon with Mt5 and leather is my dream, I believe said told me there are 127 in that combination.

 

yes, 4mo is offered in 3 of the 4 engines for the us-spec b5.5.

In MY04/05, there were only 1,946 1.8t/4MO/5spd cars available. (1,420 sedans)

I thought the power was *barely* adequate in stock form, but the APR 93 Octane program absolutely transformed the car.

This car is a frigging BLAST to drive, especially in the snow (reminds me a lot of my '02 WRX) ........

Not too long ago, there was 2004 1.8t 4Motion (GLS) Sedan w/MT5 on ebay.
Northern Green, Grey leather, maybe 40,000 miles.

My W8 is pushing 300+bhp (crank), and the damn thing won't chirp the tires...

Yeah, ESP was very rare on this car......

Mine is sans-ESP and has velour interior, though I'm having leather installed in 2 weeks.

The good about these cars is that they're more family-friendly than the A4.....the back seat has more legroom. The downside is that it doesn't have quite the cache of the OOOO club and it isn't quite as drop-dead georgeous as an A4

Nice car, though...........we thought about selling ours about 3 months ago (check the archives), but decided to keep it and mod the hell out of it----saved me a bigger car payment and it's more fun, too!

VWGUY4EVER, that W8 must be really heavy, my car will spin the tires all the way through 3rd gear <GRIN>.................................................(in the snow, of course!)

i didnt know that ESP could come with 4motion thought it was just for FWD .......

 

ESP was optional on 4Motion cars, with the exception of W8 where it was standard. It was also optional on FWD (my Wife's 2001.5 GLS had it).
ASR is standard on FWD, not available on 4Motion.

 

Techincally, i think ESP included ASR in it.
ASR (without ESP) can be dangerious if it kicks in at the wrong time. Turn it off before doinging anything "high-performance." Its ok for normal driving though

 

I like the ESP button - it makes people think.
Still pondering the "Funk" switch too.

 

I have oen of those. Unfourtunatly it got shipped to my parents address in CA. Actually the delay gives me pause to figure out exactly what the hell I'm going to do with it.

 

I didn't know the ESP was rare. Mine has heated vinyl and ESP.

The BT comments are wishful thinking at this point, unless someone wants to do custom programming. Go shopping for any turbo upgrade for an AWM Passat, or exhaust for a 1.8t 4mo. Once I wrap up some other projects I will solve those problems, but for now APR chip makes it a good driver.

Okie-dokie.

In MY04, there were 118 1.8t/4MO wagons with 5MT and leather. Of those, 29 were Silverstone (that's 24.6%). There were 24 (20.3%) in Stonehenge and 24 (20.3%) in Reflex Silver. The remaining 41 came in black, blue graphite, blue silver, northern green, shadow blue, samoa red and wheat beige.

Not sure if I can find one in the immediate area or not.
